Who says you have to choose between sweet and spicy? By combining juicy pineapple and zesty jalapeno in the same glass, you can have the best of both worlds.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka

  • 1.5 oz pineapple juice

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice

  • .5 oz jalapeno simple syrup (recipe follows)

  • Dash of Angostura bitters (optional)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

Cooking Directions

  1. Mix salt, sugar and chili powder together on a small plate; Rim a rocks glass with lime and then the mixture. Add an oversized ice cube to the glass. Set aside.

  2. Combine vodka, pineapple juice, lime juice, jalapeno simple syrup, and bitters (if using) in a shaker filled with ice. Shake until very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain into the rimmed ice-filled glass. Garnish with a Sweet Veggie Party Pick.

  3. To make jalapeƱo simple syrup: Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and 3-5 jalapeno slices in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow jalapeno to steep until cool. Strain out jalapenos. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a month.
